Cookie policy
Last updated 15 September 2026
In short: the website uses one cookie to keep you signed in and stores a few preferences in your browser. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies on the website.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Local storage is similar but stays until it is cleared. Both let a site remember something between page loads.
What we use on the website
| Name | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID |
Keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Without it you would have to sign in on every page. | Until you close the browser |
hsh_filters_*local storage |
Remembers the filters you last applied on a list, so returning to a page shows what you were looking at. | Until the tab is closed |
Both are strictly necessary for the product to work as intended. We do not use analytics, tracking or advertising cookies on the website.
Our mobile apps
The free mobile apps show advertising through Google AdMob, which uses your device's advertising identifier rather than cookies. What that involves, and how to control it, is set out in section 4 of our privacy policy.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie will stop you being able to sign in, because there is no other way for the site to know it is still you.
Changes
If we add anything that stores data in your browser, we will update this page and the date at the top.
