Three things to record. Everything else is worked out.

Purchases, payments and expenses. From those, BuildLedger knows what you owe, what each floor cost, and where your cash is sitting.

Material purchases

Record what arrived, from whom, and at what rate. The total is calculated as you type, and every purchase is tagged to a construction stage.

  • Quantity and rate per delivery, with the total worked out for you
  • Average rate per material, so you can see when prices creep up
  • Payment status against each supplier shown on every row
  • Filter by supplier, material, stage or date range

Contractor jobs and payments

A contractor can have several jobs at once — covered area at one rate, boundary wall at another. Every payment names the job it settles.

  • Fixed price, per square foot, per running foot or per unit
  • Estimated quantities you can mark final once measured
  • A finalised job cannot be overpaid; an estimated one can, deliberately
  • Per-job balances, so no payment is ever untraceable

Outstanding balances

Suppliers and contractors kept apart, because they are owed for different reasons. Pay from the same screen without going anywhere else.

  • What each supplier is owed against what was delivered
  • What each contractor is owed, broken down per job
  • Pay in place, with the amount pre-filled and capped at the balance
  • Overpayment refused by the server, not just hidden in the interface

Cash in hand

The number nobody usually tracks. Record what you hand to a site manager, and whatever they spend comes off it automatically.

  • Live balance for every person holding your money
  • Transfers between people, capped at what the sender actually holds
  • Full statement per person, oldest first, with a running balance
  • Optionally stop someone spending more than they are holding

Cost per stage

The build drawn as money. Foundation at the bottom, each stage as wide as the cost it has absorbed, split by materials, labour and expenses.

  • Compare what the ground floor cost against the first
  • Budget per stage with variance shown against actual
  • Monthly trend across the life of the project
  • Reports formatted to print for a bank or a partner

Your team

Add the people who work on site without handing them the keys to everything.

  • Four roles: owner, admin, manager and viewer
  • Managers record and edit but cannot delete
  • Restrict anyone to specific projects
  • People can only edit entries they recorded themselves
